Terms of Service & End User Agreement
Effective 8 July 2026
These Terms of Service and End User Agreement ("Terms") govern your use of the public website of the Royal Jamaica Yacht Club ("RJYC", "the Club", "we", "us", or "our") and of the Club's point-of-sale and accounting application (the "Application"). By using the website or the Application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
The Application
The Application is internal software the Club uses to operate its retail and consignment store and to maintain its accounting records, including an integration with Intuit QuickBooks Online. It is provided for the Club's own operations and for use by authorized Club staff — it is not a public or general-purpose product.
Accounts and authorized use
- Access to the Application is granted by a Club administrator to specific staff members, each with a role that determines what they may see and do.
- You must keep your sign-in credentials confidential and use them only for authorized Club business. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.
- You must promptly notify the Club of any unauthorized use of your account or any security concern.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the website or Application for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- attempt to access data or functions you are not authorized to use, or interfere with the security or operation of the systems;
- copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the Application except as permitted by law;
- misrepresent, falsify, or tamper with financial or accounting records.
Third-party services
The Application connects to Intuit QuickBooks Online through Intuit's authorized API. Your and the Club's use of QuickBooks Online is subject to Intuit's own terms and policies. The Club is not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services, though we work to integrate with them securely.
Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Intellectual property
The website, the Application, and their content are owned by the Club or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights.
Disclaimers
The website and the Application are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Club disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Club will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the website or the Application.
Termination
The Club may suspend or end access to the Application at any time, including where these Terms are breached or where access is no longer required for Club business.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
